Frequently asked questions
Can my shop sell online with its own cart?
Yes. BottegaQui Shop uses your shared catalogue and sends purchases to MacellAI order management. Customise your logo, cover, colour and introduction in Settings. Customers choose products, quantities and fulfilment, then pay with Stripe. Variable-weight products require collection with a deposit; shipping requires a known fee. My ecommerce provides a setup checklist. A free-form website editor and structured product variants are not yet included.
Can I use MacellAI with my tills and scales?
The Base plan Connector Centre manages multiple tills and scales, maps products to departments and PLUs, and exports base prices from the saved catalogue. Import final B2C closings in MacellAI CSV format: tills are combined by day, duplicates recognised and conflicts blocked. Axon, Mettler Toledo, RCH and Dibal profiles require model, firmware and format validation with your technician; direct drivers are not active. This feature does not issue fiscal documents or replace Italian telematic register obligations.
What does MacellAI cost?
You get a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. Then choose Base at €19/month or €190/year, or Pro at €39/month or €390/year, VAT included. Annual plans include two months free. A 3% VAT-inclusive fee applies only to merchandise in final balances paid online; deposits, in-store payments, delivery and shipping are excluded.
Do my customers need to install another app?
No. Customers can keep ordering through WhatsApp as they already do. MacellAI turns the conversation into a clear, actionable order for your team.
Can the AI invent products or prices?
No. Products, availability and prices come from your catalogue. Order totals are calculated by the platform rather than freely generated by the AI.
Can a member of staff take over a conversation?
Yes. The Pro plan includes viewing conversations, pausing the AI and replying personally from the dashboard. Keeping the phone app connected separately requires eligibility for Meta Coexistence.
Does it work with the WhatsApp Business app on my phone?
Yes, where Meta Coexistence is available for the business account. MacellAI can work alongside the WhatsApp Business app, so the shop keeps its familiar mobile workflow.
Can I manage collection, local delivery and shipping?
Yes. Configure collection slots, delivery areas and fees, or connect a shipping provider. The operator confirms products, final weight, price, date and tracking before dispatch.
Which food businesses can use MacellAI?
MacellAI adapts terminology, units and recommendations to butcher shops, delis, bakeries, greengrocers, fishmongers and other independent food retailers.
Can it support several stores or a retail chain?
Yes. The Chain Center brings performance, locations and central catalogue management into one control layer while every store keeps its own WhatsApp number, customers, orders and day-to-day operations.
Can I import my existing Excel or CSV files?
Yes. The guided importer detects sheets, header rows and columns for till closures, B2B sales, supplier invoices and bank transactions. If your file uses different labels, map them once: MacellAI remembers the profile and prevents previously imported records from being duplicated.
Does MacellAI replace my accountant or certify food safety compliance?
No. It helps organise documents, management estimates and HACCP records. A Stripe payment PDF alone is not an Italian electronic invoice transmitted through SdI. Your accountant checks tax requirements; your food safety plan and procedures must meet the requirements for your specific business.
Can I connect my scale or cash register?
Start by entering actual weights and importing compatible files with a preview. Direct connections require checking the model, protocol and supplier support; a universal connector is not already enabled. Italian fiscal POS-to-register association also has its own tax authority procedure.
Will I have to set everything up on my own?
No. The in-app Guide Centre provides searchable, step-by-step instructions for WhatsApp, catalogue, orders, payments, delivery, loyalty and administration. Every guide links directly to the relevant feature, with a PDF manual and personal support still available.
